Back to School for Parents, Too!

On July 16 and 17, arts education director, Carrie Nath, and arts access director, Sarah Schmitt, along with many of the KAC arts education roster artists, attended the statewide PTA conference. Parents from all over the Commonwealth were doing their homework as they scoured the Fern Valley Conference Center for materials and programming to support their children’s teachers and schools. It is clear that parents throughout Kentucky care about their kids. Way to go PTA!

Hear what Myrdin Thompson, the Kentucky delegate to the Mom Congress and the President of the 15th District of the Kentucky PTA, has to say about the arts in education.

Dads rock the PTA! Listen to these comments from Robin Jones, an active dad and theatre artist working to create a theatre program at the Brown School in Louisville.

All the way from Florida, national service representative for Kentucky, M. Ivelisse Castro, praises the Kentucky chapter of PTA Reflections, a national theme based arts competition.

Tell us why having art in your child’s school is important to you and your community.
